100-Hour Course Overview
Our 100-hour I-ACT Certification Course is an intensive program that spans over 12 days, covering the requirements for I-ACT Foundation Level Certification. It takes place near Vancouver, Canada. You will receive an education in colon hydrotherapy that adheres to professional standards and is delivered by experts including NDs, RMTs and I-ACT certified colon therapists. This training prepares you to practice colon hydrotherapy safely and effectively and gives you tools you will need for running your own practice with both professionalism and business sense.
Course Outline
Our I-ACT certification course is an intensive program that spans over 12 days, covering the requirements for I-ACT level 1 certification. You will receive an education in colon hydrotherapy that adheres to professional standards and is delivered by experts including NDs, RMTs and I-ACT certified colon therapists. This training prepares you to practice colon hydrotherapy safely and effectively and gives you tools you will need for running your own practice with both professionalism and business sense.
Topics Covered Include:
- History, Theory and Practice of Colon Hydrotherapy including a detailed look at the theory of “Autointoxication”
- Anatomy & Physiology Review, the Digestive System
- Diseases of the Digestive System
- Functional Disorders of the Digestive System
- Contraindications and Indications for Colon Hydrotherapy
- Overview of the International Association of Colon Therapists’ bylaws and standard operating procedure
- Remaining in compliance with the laws in your province or state
- Health & Sanitation with a focus on infection control procedures
- Medication interactions
- Stool examination
Preparation for Establishing and Running your Practice Include:
- Legal business structures & business relationships
- Professionalism & ethical considerations
- Office procedures & policies
- Basic accounting and taxes
- Insurance
- Business planning
- Client management software and scheduling & confirming appointments
- Complimentary modality: Essential Oils
Practicum:
- Thorough explanation of the intake form / how to screen the client for contraindications / conduct a pre-session interview / intake
- Thorough explanation / walk-through of how to use the colon hydrotherapy machine and how to deliver a treatment
- Hands-on opportunity to give a minimum of 10 treatments under the supervision of a colon hydrotherapy instructor
- Equipment set-up and equipment cleaning
- Equipment maintenance
Examination:
- Practical exam (you will be observed by an instructor while you conduct the intake interview, explain the procedure to the client and obtain consent to deliver the treatment, deliver post-colonic care to the client, clean the colon hydrotherapy equipment, and ensure cleanliness of the facility)
- Written examination (multiple-choice)
- 15 Minute Presentation (you will deliver a presentation to the class and instructor demonstrating your understanding and knowledge of the digestive system)

Prerequisites
- Current Standard First-Aid with CPR certification
- High School Diploma or equivalent (may be documented by diploma, GED or equivalency exam such as Wunderlich Ability or Benefit Test or college trascript/degree)
- College Level Anatomy & Physiology Course (one semester, may be completed at an accredited college or university or online via this course: http://www.medixonline.ca/anatomy-physiology/?)
- Your Resume (professional and educational background)
- A short paragraph outlining your reasons for pursuing colon therapist training
- Proof of minimum of one colon hydrotherapy treatment received (or an explanation as to why you are unable to receive colon hydrotherapy treatments)
- Telephone interview with course coordinator
- On your first day of classes: A passing grade (70% or higher) on an Anatomy & Physiology Pre-Test (multiple-choice)

Fees
Course fee for the 100-hour training course, including I-ACT and ICTTI Manual and the textbook “Fundamentals of Anatomy & Physiology” by Donald C. Rizzo.
